Odor in my Floorboard, need it out.?

I am getting carpet tomorrow. I had cats pee through the carpet and the pad and even stains on my floorboard. We removed the carpet and the pad. It doesn't smell that much..you can barely smell it as it is now but once you smell it..you know it is there. So, is there anyway we can get rid of the odor without replacing the boards? Is it true Baking Soda works? How long should I keep it there if I decide to use it?
