Where can I find "shrooms" in nature?

Hey there shroomhead community, I have never taken shrooms before, but I want to experience the shroom trip-in hopes of spiritual enlightenment. I don't know anyone affiliated with the illicit distribution of magic mushrooms , so I guess i will resort to nature. I live in South Texas and i have no clue where to search for shrooms. I heard that they grow near animal manure. Is that true? anyway, if you could give me a few pointers , I would deeply appreciate it , thanks in advance.
