Should I be worry about hair dye? PREGNANT?

I've been told you can dye your hair, I don't know of any cases where the baby was actually harmed by it but I haven't really done research. I do know that there are more chemicals in home dye then in salon dye. Lots of extra metals and stuff. I have heard of a lot of women getting sick from the smell but don't know about it harming the baby.
